Who is the programme for?
This course is designed for women aged 18+, living in the borough of Richmond, who have been inactive for a while, and want to get into or get back into exercise. Whether you’re feeling a little nervous about starting/restarting or simply would welcome a supportive group to help kickstart your fitness journey, this course is for you.

How many sessions will there be?
The programme runs for 8 weeks, with one session each week on Tuesdays at 5pm. Please note there will be a pause during the October half term (Tuesday 28th October).

What can I expect from the sessions?
The course will start with gentle mobility and movement, progressing through bodyweight exercises and onto using equipment. It is important to us that everyone feels comfortable and confident in what they are doing and exercises can be adapted for your level. Each 40–45 minute session is led by expert trainers and includes plenty of friendly support from both trainers and fellow participants. After the workout, there’s time to enjoy a complimentary tea or coffee and chat with others.

What do I need to bring?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows free movement and bring clean trainers for studio use. A bottle of water and a small towel are recommended. Most importantly, bring your enthusiasm—you’ve already taken the hardest step by signing up!

Why is there an application process?
Spaces are limited to ensure everyone can enjoy a quality experience. The course is aimed at those who are truly inactive and motivated to get into or back to exercise. The application form, with just a few simple questions, helps us prioritise those who might benefit most from the experience. If you don’t get a place this time, don’t worry – we hope to run the course again soon.

When will I know if I have a place on the course?
Applications close on 26th September, and we will notify everyone by 1st October. The first session begins on Tuesday 7th October. If you’re not successful this time, we hope there will be future opportunities to join.

How many people will be on the course?
The class is capped at 15 participants to ensure everyone receives attention and support. We encourage participants to attend as many sessions as possible to get the most from the programme.

How do I get to the gym?
Stable & Strong women’s fitness studio is conveniently located at 64 Mortlake High Street.
There is some limited street parking available, however the studio is easily accessible by public transport with bus stops on Mortlake High Street, and Mortlake train station around the corner. Full directions and a map can be found on our website to help you plan your journey. We also have a couple of buddies available who can come and meet you and accompany you to your first sessions.

What facilities do you have at the gym?
We have a toilet, shower and a coffee room where you can fill up your water bottle.
